Are you interested in exploring art and creativity as a means of knowing yourself and growing in mindfulness? This 20-day course invites you into deeper insight through multiple intuitive art, drawing concentrations, and collage practices. These mindful, creative practices free us from conscious thinking and judgment, allowing us to open new pathways for insight.  This is not an art course nor do you need to think of yourself as artistic or creative.

Weekly Zoom meetings + independent practice:
The class begins Saturday, Sept 11, with live 90-minute Zoom sessions on Saturdays until Oct 2 (four total). During the week, you will receive 5-6 email practice prompts to practice the type of mindful art for that week. Over the three weeks, we'll be doing 1) intuitive art, 2) mindful drawing, 3) collage for insight. The final fourth session will be for course and practice reflections.

You do NOT need to be a member of the Midwest Alliance for Mindfulness to take this course but you will need to create an account so we can message you about the class.

This new course is taught by Pam Hausner and offered at no cost as an experiment to gain understanding for future paid courses. Each week you will be requested to provide candid feedback for affirmation and improvement. You may need to purchase the following materials if you do not already own them:
  • EITHER a Strathmore Visual Journal for watercolor, 140 lb. and a separate sketchbook for pencil and ink sketches OR a mixed media pad suitable for wet and dry media
  • Watercolor paints
  • Waterproof pen (black ink)
  • Markers, gel pens, colored pencils, crayons, or other media as desired
