Teachings for Teachers
is a quarterly gathering of mindfulness teachers in order to share teachings and practices from our favorite senior teachers and to talk about our teaching experiences. We will take turns choosing topics/practices that have resonated with us and bring our own unique perspective to the experience. In this way we all become exposed to a wider variety of imaginative, enriching and useful teaching styles and experiences. The inquiry and discussion generated is not only a great learning experience, it provides us with a sense of community and connection.
Please check the class location on the calendar to see if you are registering to attend online via Zoom, on-site at the Peace Pod (some offer both options), or some other location. If the weather permits, we may meet outdoors. You can read about our online etiquette here https://mindfulness-alliance.org/offerings/online-offerings/
. If you attend in the Peace Pod, please arrive on time as the suite doors are locked and teacher may not hear you to let you in after the meeting begins.

Studying on our own is important and we have done that when we must, but the power of community connection cannot be replicated through reading, listening to podcasts and watching videos. There is a Sanskrit term, sangha
, which describes the practice of being in community. It is maybe one of the highest and most challenging, but one of the most transformational practices I know of. In some ways that is what we are building at MAM, a sangha of secular mindfulness teachers.
