It was so lovely last year we're doing it again! Mindfully float the peaceful Niangua River and connect with nature in community with your guides Angela Caruso-Yahne and Tracy Ochester during this 2-day mindfulness and compassion cultivation retreat. The gentle Niangua River is located in south central Missouri, flowing south to north, and emptying into the Lake of the Ozarks. The river’s name comes from an Osage Nation leader named Nehemgar, meaning “bear”. Most of the land around the Niangua River is undeveloped, filling this area with pristine natural beauty. We will pass beautiful Bennett Spring State Park where more than 100 million gallons of clear, cool water join with the river each day. You might also wonder at the mysterious pillars of an unfinished bridge along the riverbank, some of the last remnants of the abandoned town of Corkery, MO. Each day we will convene around mealtimes during which participants will be guided in mindful eating, meditation, mindful communication, and nature connection. Participants are responsible for securing their own lodging (info provided below), but meals and kayak rental fees are included in your registration cost. Once you reserve your lodging and purchase your retreat ticket, all there is left to do is to show up, bring your whole self to the experience, and settle into peaceful presence. Be sure to reserve your lodging soon as accommodations fill up long before the float season begins.

When: August 22-24, 2024

Arrive at the outfitter by 9 am (address and map provided shortly before the retreat) and depart Saturday morning according to the check out time of your lodging site. The retreat lodge is in Lebanon, MO, about a 3 hour drive from Kansas City.

Retreat Cost: $500 includes a stipend for your guides, boat rental fees for both floats, as well as all meals (lunch on the river Thu and Fri, continental breakfast on Friday, a hearty dinner on Thu and Fri). Members receive a 20% discount by using discount code MEMBERS20 at checkout. No refunds will be provided after the deadline for registration Sunday June 18, 2023. If the weather doesn't allow for a float, we will offer programming in and around the retreat lodge (including access to an indoor pool).
