We welcome you to join us for an imaginative practice of mindfulness in community that might be an invitation into creativity, a celebration of an ancient tradition, or an act of craftivism - or maybe all three! Either way, we think this fun and relaxing practice has the potential to transform a Mayday! into a sweet ending for your May Day and a way to find hope in challenging times.
We will gather at Loose Park to create May baskets that you can keep for yourself or share. Starting with a mindfulness practice, our guide will instruct us in creating a bouquet of paper flowers that can be enjoyed now and we will also be planting some wildflower seeds to see what might sprout later. We will pair this with conversation around planting seeds of intention and exploring emergence. Finally, we will conclude with a show and tell opportunity for those who wish to share.
We will provide you with the supplies and instructions. You're only required to bring yourself as you are! Feel free to invite friends and neighbors. No experience with crafts or mindfulness is required.

For some people it has been a tradition on May 1st to
fill baskets with flowers and deliver them to their friends and neighbors. Its a practice passed down through the generations from ancient celebrations of the Earth's flowering season. Did you know that May 1st is also International Worker's Day across the globe? Your May basket might become a gift to someone who works hard and could use a pick-me-up.
