For many of us, the holidays are inseparably linked to loved ones - family and friends. But, the physical distancing and travel restrictions of the pandemic and conflict around political events are making meaningful communication with family and friends harder to navigate. There may be special people in our lives with whom we wish to connect, but we find ourselves struggling to express things that are hard to say, including feelings of regret, love or longing, forgiveness, or appreciation. Writing a carefully crafted letter can be a wonderful way to connect on a more meaningful level - especially when it's done mindfully.

In this two hour workshop, participants will learn the art of mindful letter-writing, practicing compassionate, needs-based awareness for both the sender and receiver. Participants will be guided through the process of writing a letter that authentically captures what the heart is longing to say. Participants will need to have paper and a writing utensil on hand (you can also use your computer if you prefer), as well as be seated near a surface that supports letter writing. This class is offered online via Zoom. You can read about our online etiquette here https://mindfulness-alliance.org/offerings/online-offerings/.
